Ross Bellinger has posed an interesting question regarding the children of William Bellinger and Mary Shaw:

...When I first starting looking into my family history back in the early 2000's, both you and Sharmain [Jarvis] very kindly gave me a lot of information about William Bellinger and Mary Shaw. The original information I received re Williams children stopped at the birth of Alfred Henry Bellinger, born 29 March 1861.

My cousin Robert Bellenger has pointed out that according to the Heaven and Hell Together website, another son, George, was born and died the following year in 1862 - "The family perservered and another son arrived on 29 Mar 1861. They named the boy Alfred Henry Bellinger.[12] A further child and son, George, was born the following year in 1862 but the birth was not registered, probably because he died soon after on 4 Feb 1862 in Hobart, Tasmania"

Robert has very kindly sent me articles of which I have attached. One is the death register of George and the other two are newspaper articles of 1941 stating that Alfred Henry celebrated his 78th birthday and also died in 1941 aged 78. That would give him a birth year of 1863, not 1861. Now I normally don't put much stock in newspaper articles because thay are only as accurate as the memory or knowledge of the person compiling the article. However, in this case, George's death register (AOT Death Re. RGD 1862/3179) states that he died on the 4th February 1862, at the age of 8 months, which would make it impossible for Alfred Henry to be born in March 1861.

Not too sure how your H&HT forum works as I probably would have posted this through the website, but are you able to confer with the person who compiled the information on William Bellinger and Mary Shaw and get back to me.
