Mary Ann Underwood and William Wright in Van Diemen's Land

On 10 May 1837 Mary Ann Underwood signed an affidavit indicating her desire to marry one William Wright. Mary Ann was recorded as a Spinster, of adult age, (twenty one), and she was able to sign her own name. William signed his own version of the document, in which it is noted that he was a bachelor and also an adult. Mary Ann's purported age at marriage is almost three years more than her actual age, if the her date of birth is correct.1

Lucy Louisa Bunker and John Stonehouse

This page carries on from the Lucy Louisa Bunker and Daniel Mollineaux section. Later in 1854 Lucy Louisa Mollenoyux, nee Bunker, married for the second time. She married John Marr Stonehouse, apparently recently widowed himself, on 18 September 1854 in Warrnambool, Victoria. Lucy was recorded as Louisa Mollenogun at their wedding.1 John was born on 7 June 1823 in Launceston, Van Diemen's Land, the son of Robert Stonehouse and Jane Marsden.2
